The program will feature two incredible works written by contemporary American composers, depicting the journey of darkness to light through compassion and peace.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Concert Choir, conducted by Jason Hawkins, with collaborative pianist Po-Chuan Chiang and faculty tenor soloist Terry Chasteen, will perform llluminare, Elaine Hagenberg’s first extended work; this edition for SATB chorus and piano.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Illinois University Singers, conducted by Brian J. Winnie, with collaborative pianist Po-Chuan Chiang, faculty baritone soloist Nicholas Miguel, and student musicians George Pârvu, violin and Kieran McLain, cello, will perform GRAMMY-nominated composer Alex Berko’s Sacred Place, a piece commissioned by Craig Hella Johnson, artistic director of the award-winning professional choir, Conspirare.
