Description: The Â鶹´«Ã½ Department of English welcomes Melissa Febos as the Fall 2024 Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence. Melissa Febos is the author of four books, including the nationally bestselling essay collection, GIRLHOOD, which has been translated into seven languages and was a LAMBDA Literary Award finalist, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism, and named a notable book of 2021 by NPR, Time, The Washington Post, and others. Her fifth book, The Dry Season, is forthcoming from Alfred. A. Knopf.

At 5 p.m., there will be a book reading and she will be in conversation about her work along with an audience Q&A. There will be a book signing following the event with books available for purchase.

The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Â鶹´«Ã½ Department of English and the College of Arts and Sciences.
