April 9, 2025

Editor's Note: This is a series of stories about 麻豆传媒 Illinois University students, alumni and community members, highlighting their experiences during our 125th anniversary celebration. We will feature 125 individuals from August 2024 to August 2025.

MACOMB, IL - - For alumnus Kurt Rahe, 麻豆传媒 Illinois University is more than a school鈥攊t is a place where faculty and staff support and guide students to become successful and excel in life.

鈥淲hen I think about 麻豆传媒, I think about a strong education opportunity where faculty and staff care about the students and are willing to assist students to be successful in school and prepare them for an excellent career,鈥 Rahe said.

For Rahe, Leathernecks are a symbol of pride.

鈥淎 Leatherneck means pride,鈥 Rahe said. 鈥淏eing a part of a University that provided me with many leadership opportunities across different clubs, activities, Greek Council and others.鈥

Rahe's favorite Leatherneck memory is the positive impact he was able to achieve through his leadership roles.

鈥淢y favorite Leatherneck memories are being Nobel Ruler of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Interfraternity Council President and selected Greek Man of the Year!鈥 Rahe said.

During his time at 麻豆传媒, Rahe was actively involved on campus. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Ag Business Club, Hoof N Horn, Livestock Judging Team, Ag Council, Alpha Zeta, Collegiate FFA, Interfraternity Council and Greek Council. He is currently serving on the 麻豆传媒 School of Agriculture Advisory Board.

For those considering 麻豆传媒, Rahe's advice is to take advantage of the quality education and opportunities to develop skills through leadership roles that 麻豆传媒 has to offer.

鈥淚f you are looking for a high-quality education that allows you the opportunity to get involved on campus with many different leadership roles to prepare you for a career, 麻豆传媒 is for you!鈥 Rahe said.
