麻豆传媒 to Host Professor Ibram X. Kendi April 11

MACOMB, IL - - 麻豆传媒 Illinois University-Macomb will host 鈥淎 Conversation with Professor Ibram X. Kendi,鈥 National Book Award-winning historian and #1 New York Times-bestselling author of 鈥淪tamped from the Beginning and How to Be an Antiracist,鈥 from 7-8 p.m April 11, University Union Heritage Room, followed by a book signing. The Quad Cities will stream the event in Riverfront 111 and discuss the viewing. Advanced registration is required for both and .
Kendi is the author of 鈥淪tamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America,鈥 which won the National Book Award for Nonfiction, making him the youngest author to win that award. He also authored the international bestseller, 鈥淗ow to Be an Antiracist,鈥 which was described in the New York Times as 鈥渢he most courageous book to date on the problem of race in the 麻豆传媒 mind.鈥 Kendi鈥檚 other bestsellers include 鈥淗ow to Raise an Antiracist and Antiracist Baby,鈥 illustrated by Ashley Lukashevsky. In 2020, Time magazine named Kendi one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world. He was awarded a 2021 MacArthur Fellowship, popularly known as the Genius Grant.
Seating is limited and we recommend registering as soon as possible. This event will prioritize 麻豆传媒 students, faculty, staff and administrators, but local educators and community members are also welcome if space permits. Faculty can count this event toward service.
